Scott Hazard

 In this image Scott Hazard made an illusion that there was a hole in the wall. I chose this photo because it was eye catching to me. I like this image because it is very unique and interesting. I also chose this photo because it is very creative.

In the picture by Scott Hazard he made it look like there are holes going through the door, in the second  image it looks like the door is fading. I chose this photo because the black and white shades caught my eye.    

In this image created by Scott Hazard he had made it look like there is smoke coming out of the vent. I chose this image because I really liked how creative and unique it is. I also like this photo because it is so simple but it is an image that just stands out.

Yvonne Bayer

   Yvonne Bayer was born in 1983 in Ulm/ Germany. She now lives and works in Cologne / Germany. Studied at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design/ Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe. She got a diploma in Communication Design in February 2010.  From 2003-2010 she studied Communication Design and Product Design.

   She worked as an intern for professional experience. In the more recent years she did Freelance work for nondesign in Cologne since October 2011, Freelance work for Lange+Durach in Cologne in the same year. She also did free lance work for Hauser Lacour in Frankfurt since 2008. From January to July in 2007 Yvonne Bayer studied Interdisciplinary at Konstack University of Arts, Crafts and Design Stockholm.

   In March 2008 – July 2008 Yvonne Bayer had an internship at Hauser Lacour in Frankfurt. She has also had a internship in may other places such as at Duodesign Agency for applied ideas/ Ulm, and at Eat Sleep Work/ Play in London. Yvonne Bayer did a Workshop of Urban Camouflage at The Pottfiction Summer Camp. In March and April of 2010 Yvonne did Advertising media design for Karlsruhe Artists’ Fair 2010.

   Yvonne Bayer is still a communication designer. She likes to work in different fields like graphic design, conceptual design, culture and exhibition projects. She is very interested in art work projects as well. At the moment she is looking for some interesting freelance projects.  In my work I tried to create an image that models Yvonne Bayers technique and design. Yvonne Bayers work is very creative and unique. For my images I tried to think outside of the box.  I like to eat macaroni and cheese. It is good… really good. And so is Yvonne Bayers images. In my images I tried to think of ways that are simple but clean at the same time.

  

   My examples-

    

I chose this image for my example because I think it is very creative. It looks like the paper is over flowing from the box. This picture was taken by Yvonne Bayer herself. One of her urban camouflage images. I like this picture because it is so simple but unique and different.

   I chose this photo for another example image because when I saw it, it was very eye catching. When I saw it, it popped out to me because of all of its vibrant colours. This photo was taken by a photographer called Liu Bolin. I really like this photo because it’s so bright and creative, the graffiti makes it so much more interesting. Overall this is a great photo.

 

 I chose this photo because at first I couldn’t find he person who was camouflaging in the photo. That is why I chose it, to see if you can find it as well. I also chose this photo because it is taken by Liu Bolin again and his work is very good! 

   My Photos - 

   For this photo I used my mom, she layed underneath my covers and I crunched the blanket in and under her arms and legs to make it look more camouflage, not just crumpled up blankets. This picture was taken in my room. 

   My inspiration for this photo is my sister. In this image I used my step dad. I got him to lay down in the bed but half sitting up. I used all of my sisters and brothers stuffed animals and toys. I took many shots but this one was the best. 

   In this image I used my sister. She is inside her dress up box and I used her dresses to cover and I placed jewelry around. The horse is there because the theme I was going for was Fairytale. So I added it in the photo. I thought of this idea because I saw a princess movie commercial Frozen on tv and it just popped in my head. 

HDR Photos

WHAT: What is HDR Photography?  Please describe the history and current uses for HDR photography. (you must quote resources)

   HDR means, “High-dynamic-range imaging.”  It is used in imaging and photography to capture a dynamic range between the light and dark in a image. In the 1850’s came the idea of using many exposures to fix a too big range of light. 1996 The use of digital cameras made a new and bigger demand for HDR imaging and to improve the light. 1997 The idea of merging or combining many different exposed photos to make just one HDR picture was introduced to the public by Paul Debevec. More recently Photoshop CS2 made a function to merge and make a HDR photo.

HOW: How is HDR photos achieved?  In this section you are to describe your research into the different techniques of achieving HDR. (must resource a minimum 3 different ways of creating. You must site source)

   HDR photos are achieved by:

1^st method- Merging HDR

   In this method of creating a HDR photo you will learn how to take many different exposures and merging them together. You will start off with a 32 bit image and then eventually you will change it to a 8 or 16 bit image. Then you will edit the photo by using different toning methods (Edge glow, Tone and Detail- gamma, exposure, detail, Advanced- shadow, highlight, vibrance, saturation, etc.)  

2^nd method- Professional HDR

   In this tutorial you would learn how to make a professional looking HDR photo. Photoshop CS2 has an already built-in HDR assembler. It makes very realistic or surreal HDR photos. For this you will need a digital camera that you can set the exposure manually. A sturdy tri-pod, an idea of what picture you want to take (one that does not move), and a computer that has Photoshop CS2 installed.

3^rd method- Gritty HDR

   Gritty HDR means ‘High Dynamic Range’ but for this photo effect but this photo effect does not need “HDR” photos. This photo effect could be better called as a grungy tone mapping effect, that does not need HDR photos. The beginning of the tutorial is basically the same as the rest at the beginning but later on the steps are different. The steps get more specific for example they say to: Step 2:Make details more visible with the Shadow/Highlights tool, Add a halo effect with the Unsharp Mask filter.

 Personal: Describe your personal approach to producing the images.  What source did you work with?  Describe in what ways you made the images your own?  Did you manipulate the tutorial to make your images better? Here is the place for you to tell me how and what you did.  I need to know what you learned.

   For my own HDR photos I took photos of things I enjoy taking pictures of, nature or the outdoors. For my images I didn’t use a tripod, I did manipulate the tutorial but just a little, not much. In this project I learned how to make an HDR photo. I learned how to create one image from three, I learned how to take pictures with different exposures. In my photos I changed the different levels of the toning (Edge glow, Tone and Detail- gamma, exposure, detail, Advanced- shadow, highlight, vibrance, saturation, etc.)

                    

Dreams Of Flying

My inspiration for this photo is Mary Poppins. I chose this idea because the people on the news one morning were talking about it. I composed this image by going to the park, I used my sister as my model and took an umbrella and had her hold it in her hand. I didn't edit this picture.

I thought of this idea for a photo because I watched a Dreamworks movie and I thought I should do the fishing on the moon idea. For this image I used a black bed sheet for the background, a towel for the moon and my sister holding the fishing rod sitting on the moon. I used brightness and contrast in photoshop to make the photo more bright.

My inspiration for this photo is that my friend and I were playing catch so we decided to take a picture of it. For this image I used a big red kick ball and my friends. I used brightness and contrast in photoshop to make this picture brighter.

Jan Von Holleben Biography

   Jan Von Holleben was born in1977in Cologne. Jan von Holleben spent most of his young life separated from normal society. When he was 13 he followed in his fathers footsteps, a photographic career. He picked up a camera and started to experiment with different types of “magical tricks”. His skills and imagination for photographic images were growing while working with friends and family. He taught children with disabilities at the Pädagogische Hochschule in Freiburg. After that he moved to London and earned a degree in the Theory and History of Photography at Surrey Institute of Art and Design. He worked as many things in London as he liked the photographic scene. He was a picture editor, art director and photographic director. Jan Von Holleben’s work has been published throughout the world and his work is seen and loved by many.




                                                     

I chose this photo because I like how he makes it looks so realistic in this one. The way he has the boys positioned on the the rocks makes it look like they're standing. Also how the boy looks like he is throwing the rock. The dirt ground looks like a mountain wall.

        

This one is my favourite because I like how the wood floor looks like trees. Also that everything goes the together and it looks clean and smooth. This picture stood out to me because the kids swinging on the vine is very eye catching to me. Also that the whole set up of the picture is very creative and it everything doesn't clash with eachother.

       

This image stood out to me because I like the bright colours and the way he designed the set. It looks like he used such simple objects to create the set but the actual image is very creative. I also chose this photo because I like the contrasting colours between the red, blue, white, and green. I also like how the blue background (which I think is a blue tarp) adds texture to the picture.
